It’s a well known fact that a jar of Nutella can cure the worst case of Monday blues. I love my Nutella in a sandwich, on a biscuit, or eaten straight out of the jar with a big tablespoon. And so it seems I have passed my love of Nutella to my kids as well.

When it comes to feeding my kids I’m one of those “reading-every-label” Moms. We try to eat organic, fresh, homemade, preservative-free food wherever and whenever possible. But what about Nutella? How could we make Nutella child-friendly without compromising its amazingly rich, creamy taste?

Luckily, my friend and fellow mommy of three, introduced me to the easiest and healthiest homemade alternative to Nutella which tastes Just like the real thing… but without all the “bad” stuff!

So here’s the awesome homemade Nutella recipe that will, without a doubt, become a staple in your household!

First, you will need 275gr of roasted hazelnuts. Throw them in a food processor and blend them for a few minutes until they turn to creamy peanut butter-like consistency.

Next, add 6 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 150gr of powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon of salt, ¾ teaspoon of vanilla extract and 150gr of coconut oil. Whizz it all together for about 30 seconds or until you get a creamy texture. Your homemade Nutella is ready!

Eat straight out of the blender or spoon into a glass jar for storage (what?). Enjoy!
